Short – 10-15 characters max. The fewer, the better.

DMs – Direct Messages

Twitter Search

Search in any app or at search.twitter.com

Any word or phrase – with or without an @ symbol or hashtag:

Searching “@WellmanWilson” returns the user. Searching “wellmanwilson” returns any tweet that has

“wellmanwilson” in it – including tweets from @WellmanWilson, mentions to @WellmanWilson, and any tweet with a url that has wellmanwilson.com in it.

Searching “#WellmanWilson” would probably return nothing.

Follower/Following

When you follow someone, it means you can see their tweets in your main twitter timeline.

When someone follows you, they can see your tweets in their main twitter timeline.

Following someone does not have to be an endorsement.

Targeted Following

A Few Twitter Tips

Don’t be afraid.

Make tweets RT-able (120 char. or less).

Tweets that start with @____ are semi-private.

Auto-DMs are not considered a best practice and some will unfollow if you send one.

The “RT Reply” cuts off a conversation thread.
