Traffic and Safety• One-half of teachers are on duty to supervise students in a.m./p.m.

• Please have a designated spot to meet/pick up your children. Alternate plan. Swimming pool is not supervised.

• Please remember that parents working traffic are volunteers.

• Kiss and Go lane – Continue until traffic stops and you are against the yellow curb.

• One stop drop – all grades get out at once

Cafeteria Procedures

• New procedure – recess before lunch• Aides supervise students at recess, then escort them through the cafeteria line.

• 20 min. for recess, 20 min. for lunch.• Students are taught behavior expectations for cafeteria, lights are turned out when it gets too noisy.

• Parent table, honored guests, space constraints

• Teachers pick up their classes from the cafeteria.

Security/Safety•Students are to line up outside with their classes before school.

•Teachers escort students outside at dismissal.

•Parents are asked to meet students outside or in car line.

•South door open during school hours, W main doors open before & after school for 15 min.

Security/Safety•Parents who visit the school are asked to check in at the office to receive a name badge.

•Adults in the building will be approached by staff, checked for name badge, and asked to return to office.

•No dogs allowed when students are present. (in school or on school grounds)

Inside Days•Flags will be posted on the flagpole and in the car line when it is an inside day (colder than 28 degrees, raining)

•Teachers will be in their classrooms to supervise students on inside day after 8:25 a.m.

•Students need to come prepared for outside recess – shoes, coats.

Office Procedures•Please call the attendance line by 9 a.m. – secretaries need to call parents of absent students who are not accounted for.

•Please make plans with your children for pick up arrangements, and an alternate plan for emergencies.

•Do not expect secretaries to deliver messages to your children. (exception-emergencies)

Attendance

•We expect students to be present for 170/176 school days.

•Tardies disrupt the classroom and disable your student’s learning.

•Prearranged absence form online and in school office.

Emergencies• Please keep contact information updated in the office.

• School closures will be posted on the school web site and local radio and television stations.

• Change in release options will be sent by our emergency call system. Messages are sent to home phones and e-mails.
