Tips for Winter Cleaning Projects By Ecoline Windows February 18, 2014 When we’re shut in for the winter things seem to get a bit messier than the rest of the year. If you take action now, your house will be fresh and clean for spring. Winter is the perfect time to go through and organize your closet. Make sure to get rid of clothes that you haven’t worn for over two years or that have rips or stains. Also, clean garments that you want to keep. Take a trip to the dry cleaner and freshen up that closet. You will probably re discover old clothes that you love in the process. Pair up all mittens and gloves and toss any strays. It is not worth waiting around to see it the other “shows up.” Make sure you store pairs of gloves in an accessible place for the winter months. Clean all of your boots and shoes. It’s time to polish and get all of the salt grime off. This is also a good time to apply waterproofing spray so that your boots make it through the snow and ice for the rest of the winter. Winter is also the ideal time to organize your kitchen. Clean out all of your pots and pans and get rid of the things you never use or might not have room for. While you are at it, organize files in your home office, digitize what you can and clear out some papers. Make sure that you have a clutter free desk area to work on and that everything has its proper place. These winter projects will keep you occupied and active so that you’re not sitting on the couch until spring. The other advantage is when the nice weather returns, you can go straight outside rather than stressing about cleaning projects indoors.
