Why not just type and press enter?

If you just type in a keyword and hit enter, and you are already a friend or fan of a profile with that keyword, Facebook will send you directly to that page instead of search results.

How does Facebook sort results?

Facebook uses your connections to sort and prioritize your search results. At the top will be your direct connections, followed by people and pages ranked in order from the highest number of mutual friends.

Depending on the search criteria used, you may see additional pages or similar listings under People, Groups and the other categories – even posts of your friends. Here, if you’re looking for a Page, you’ll want to filter the results by clicking Pages. You can even filter the page results further by using the drop-down menu at the top of the results.

Note that you can click "Become a Fan" just to the right of the listing. But if you'd like to confirm that this is the correct Page you were searching for, click on the Page’s name. This will take you to the actual Page where you can view its contents.

To become a fan, click on the "Become a Fan" button at the top. (Depending on your settings, you may be asked to enter Captcha information for verification of your Facebook account.) You'll know that you're a fan because the "Become a Fan" button will disappear.

Now updates from this page will be included in your News Feed.

Remove a Fan Page

To un-fan a page, or remove it from the Facebook Fan Pages you follow, go to the Page in question by typing its name in the search box until it appears in the drop down. Or, you can click on the name of the Page directly from your News Feed. Once you get to the Page, scroll down to the very bottom of the left-hand column, just above the footer of the Web page, and click "Remove Me from Fans." This will immediately remove you as a fan of the Page.

Unfortunately, if you're wanting to clean up the number of Pages you have fanned, there is no simple way to remove yourself from multiple Fan Pages at once – you have to do it one at a time.
