Flowers have many parts.

Plant Reproduction

Like animals, plants reproduce.

Flowers grow when the plant is ready to reproduce.

The stages of plant reproduction are: - pollination, - fertilisation and - fruiting.

Plant Reproduction

A bee visits flowers to collect nectar to make honey. Nectar is a sweet liquid.

The flowers make nectar to attract insects and birds.

Pollen from the anthers stick to the bee. The bee carries the pollen to other flowers.

The bee brushes pollen onto the stigma. This is called pollination.

The pollen fertilises the ovules. The ovary becomes a fruit, which protects

the seeds. Some fruits are soft and juicy; others are

hard and tough.
