Assoc. Prof. Natalie Sims received her PhD from the University of Adelaide, Australia in 1995, and worked at the Garvan from 1994-1997. She directs the Bone Cell Biology and Disease Unit at St. Vincent’s Institute and is a Principal Research
Fellow at The University of Melbourne. Her work focuses on paracrine control of osteoblast and osteoclast function, particularly ephrin and IL-6 family cytokines, using genetically altered mouse models and in vitro systems. She has >100 publications. Natalie is a board member of the Australian and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society, the International Bone and Mineral Society, and the ASBMR, a Senior Editor of the journal Bone, and past Associate Editor of CTI. She
recently received the ASBMR Fuller Albright (2010) and the IBMS Herbert A Fleisch (2013) Awards.
