4COMPARISON OF INTERNATIONAL TOURIST ARRIVALS 2013 VS 2014

The average of foreign tourist arrival from January November = 775.000 arrival, but for the first time in the Indonesian tourism history in December 2014 reach more than 900.000 arrival.Source : Central Statistics Bureau (BPS), 2015

This figure shows that the highest number of visitors for the whole year round was on November and December in 2013-2014.The highest number reached 900 thousands visitors in December 2014 or an increase of 6 % compare to the same period in 2013. This is the highest number ever achieved in a single month, we still expect new records in the coming months.

The statistical data from 2011-2013 has shown that tourism sector in Indonesia remained become the only non oil and gas sector in the big 5 of foreign exchange earnings.In other words, tourism is vital for the economic prosperity of this country.

Ladies and gentlemen,The projection of tourism sector will continuously increase for the next 4 years compare to oil and gas sectors. By 2019, tourism foreign exchange earnings is forecasted to grow to 20 billion USD.Meaning that tourism is and will be one of the most intensive contributor sectors to the economy.
