0 Don’t  like  your  own  post.  

0 Don’t  share  details  about  cows  you  have  milked  on  Farmville.  

0   Don’t  use  business  accounts  as  your  personal  account.  

0 Don’t  add  everybody  that  sends  you  a  friend  request.  They  may  be  spammers.  

0 Don’t  share  details  of  who  you  killed  in  MaGia  wars.

0 Don’t  follow  and  un-­‐follow  someone  multiple  times  in  a  short  period  of  time.  

0 Don’t  post  broken  links  (always  check  that  your  link  is  working  before  posting)  

0 Don’t  re-­‐tweet  an  item  you  have  posted  repeatedly.  Your  account  looks  spam-­‐like.  

0 Don’t  make  your  account  private.  How  will  your  potential  clients  Gind  you?  

0 Don’t  spam  your  followers  with  just  listings  and  promotional  material.  Earn  the  right  to  promote  your  products  by  offering  great  information  your  potential  clients  need.  

0 Don’t  send  automatic  Dm’s    to  new  followers.

0  Don’t  network  only  when  you  have  a  need.  

0  Don’t  be  Salesy  100%  of  the  time.  Personalize  your  campaign.  

0  Don’t  impose  your  own  opinions  (differentiate  fact  from  opinions)  

0  Don’t  trash  the  competition.  

0  Be  careful  about  spelling  –  always  spell  check.  

0  Social  media  is  not  for  venting  about  a  horrible  day  or  a  horrible  client.  

0  Don’t  intentionally  misrepresent  or  mislead  the  truth.

What  should  you  do?  0  Keep  your  message  simple.  

0  Be  Interesting:  Write,  Video,  Photograph,  Share,  Give  

0  Listen  to  your  audience.  

0  Be  consistent  in  your  posts  (post  frequently  but  not  20  posts/hour)  

0  Be  Remarkable  

0  Customize  your  posts  (Facebook  allows  you  customize  by  country,  city  etc.)  

0  Make  your  posts  about  your  clients.  

0  Promote  in  the  right  places.  (Use  Facebook  for  photos,  twitter  for  links)  

0  Reach  out  at  the  appropriate  time.  (Think  of  how  you  check  your  own  social  media.  Use  this  tactic  to  judge  when  clients  are  generally  checking)  

0  For  every  promotional  tweet,  send  8  engaging  tweets  that  are  general  information  for  the  client.
