Most Americans who live outside of the United States actually get to enjoy a work-

life balance.  This means that they enjoy their time off while finding work

meaningful.  In Cabo San Lucas the locals prioritize family first on Sundays

especially for religious services.  Also, with the saltiness of the sea air composed of

charged ions, your brain's serotonin levels stabilize for positive mental balance.

Living in a foreign country actually engages your brain into thinking about what

you are eating, instead of taking fast-food for granted in the United States.  In

Cabo San Lucas the best and healthiest fast-food is the soft taco (hard shells are

really not the thing down here), and hardly any of the food is fried.  But there are

some organic food stores in Cabo for even the pickiest of cooks and vegans.

The U.S. Dollar goes a long way in Mexico and you can own a house and enjoy a

luxurious ocean view life style at a fraction of the cost.  The same is true if you

simply want to rent a condo and enjoy Cabo San Lucas on a tourist visa because

there are many sides and flavors to Cabo, not just one or two.  In addition, the U.S.

Dollar is accepted in almost every business establishment.

TRANSPORTATION TRANSITIONS

As long as your vehicle is currently registered in the United States and you have a

current driver's license, you can bring your vehicle and drive it.  There is only one

major highway as well as a toll highway from Cabo to San Jose.  Of course there can

be some traffic congestion, especially when there is an accident.  But if you don't

feel like driving the city does provide excellent public bus and taxi transportation.

SHELTER FROM CONSUMPTION STORMS

It's easier to unplug out of the world of tyrannical media sensationalists when you

are not stuck in the middle of it, especially when you are not sure of the accuracy of

media reporting.  Are you really getting all the facts?  The beauty of living in

another country is that you get a different point of view which is crucial in making

important life choices.  And, there is no fear of police brutality nor major race wars.

Most people living outside the United States enjoy being an "expat," or a person

who lives outside their native country because to most other countries, being a

"minority" is not a real issue.  What is not very well-liked is the pompous American

attitude that they are better than the locals.  So behaving like a guest with a polite

and humbling approach is very well accepted and appreciated in Cabo San Lucas.

The country of Mexico is extremely rich and abundant with historical diversity,

and it's not just about the Mayan and Incan Ruins (which is an exploration feast in

and of itself).  The history of Mexico is a fascinating story spanning thousands of

years.  You can easily and inexpensively take a self-paced bus tour and enrich your

spirit with an educational experience.
