WHY ARE CELEBRITIES USED?• CELEBRITIES ARE THE MAIN SELLING POINT OF MAGAZINES. THIS IS BECAUSE

THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE THAT BUY MAGAZINES USUALLY IDOLISE THESE CELEBRITIES SO THEY FEEL THAT THEY HAVE A CONNECTION WITH THEM IF THEY ARE ON THE FRONT COVER OF A MAGAZINE.• THIS IS GOOD FOR MAGAZINE COMPANIES BECAUSE THEY WILL USE A WELL

KNOWN CELEBRITY ON THE FRONT OF THEIR MAGAZINES OR AN ICON THAT THEY KNOW PEOPLE WILL LIKE SO THEY CAN CONVINCE AND ATTRACT THEIR EYE TO BUY THE MAGAZINE WITH THAT CELEBRITY ON.• CELEBRITIES ARE USUALLY FEATURED ON THE FRONT COVER OF A MAGAZINE

WHEN THEY HAVE JUST RELEASED NEW MATERIAL THEREFORE THEIR FANS WILL PURCHASE THE MAGAZINE TO FIND OUT ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE CURRENTLY DOING AND WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE FUTURE FOR THEM.

SENSE OF CONNECTION• THE AUDIENCE WANTS TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE CELEBRITY.• PEOPLE BUY MUSIC MAGAZINES WITH CELEBRITIES ON THE FRONT AS THEY

WANT TO HAVE A CONNECTION WITH THE ARTIST SO THAT THEY KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT THEM.• THEY MAY EVEN WANT TO FIND OUT PERSONAL THINGS ABOUT THE

CELEBRITY SO THEY WILL BUY THE MAGAZINE TO SEE IF THEY CAN FIND THIS INFORMATION OUT.

THE MODEL I WILL USE • FOR MY MUSIC MAGAZINE, I WILL USE A MODEL THAT RELATES TO MY

TARGET AUDIENCE SO THAT THEY CAN RELATE TO THE ‘CELEBRITY’. THIS WILL GAVE THE AUDIENCE A SENSE OF CONNECTION WITH THE MAIN PERSON ON THE FRONT COVER BECAUSE THEY CAN RELATE BACK TO THEM. • THE MODEL I USE WILL BE AT A FAIRLY YOUNG AGE, BETWEEN 16 AND 24 AS

THIS IS WHO MY TARGET AUDIENCE IS AIMED TOWARDS. I WANT THEM TO ASPIRE AND WANT TO ACHIEVE WHAT THIS ‘CELEBRITY’ HAS SO I NEED TO GIVE THEM THE RIGHT LOOK USING MIS-EN-SCENE.
