Consequence of 911

• This incident caused long-lasting unrest, disorder and suffering for all the Americans, especially the New Yorkers. The death toll was about 3000 people and the injury was 6000. Thousands of families broke up in an instant. Those survivors escaped from the physical damage, but could not escape from endless missing, sorrow and self-accusation.

• Subsequently, numerous incidents of harassment and hate crimes were reported against Middle Easterners and other” Middle Eastern looking” people worldwide. The attack struck terror and hatred to the global citizens. Other countries strengthened anti-terrorism legislation and expanded law enforcement power to better obtain the national security.

• On October 7,2001, the US and British forces inherited aerial bombing campaigns in Afghanistan, then later invaded Afghanistan with ground troops of the Special Forces.

• On March 20, a multinational force led by troops from the United States under the administration of President George W. Bush and the United Kingdom under Prime Minister Tony Blair invaded Iraq.

• War in Afghanistan: to find Osama bin Laden and other high-ranking Al-Qaeda members and destroy the organization of Al-Qaeda.
