Audience Questionnaire Results

Page 2: Audience questionnaire results

From the results, it shows that the majority of people who took part in my questionnaire are aged 17 and below. This is an advantage because throughout the

rest of my questionnaire i can see what a range of young people look for in a newspaper and apply this to my production. However this may become a

disadvantage because i have not researched into what the older population look for in a newspaper, but the audience i am targeting through my newspaper is a younger

generation.

Page 3: Audience questionnaire results

The results show here that my audience had more females than males. An advantage of this is that i can gain knowledge of what

women mainly look for in a newspaper but the difference between the genders is only by 1 person so my data will not be

biased but balanced between both genders.

This response shows that the majority of my audience are students. This also reflects a younger audience with the acceptation of older students. By

gathering data about students interest i can also feature what captures their interest in my newspaper to make it appeal to more students.

In this question, i have gained data which is spread out. The media form which received the highest response count was “Online” so the majority of my

audience mainly receive news from the internet, and only the minority of 3 people receive new from a newspaper. This may be expected from a younger audience because the younger generation is more engaged with the internet and technology, however if i produce a newspaper that delivers news of their

interest it can attract them to reading a newspaper.

I went on to ask my audience if they actually read a newspaper and the majority of my audience responded that they do read a newspaper. Now i can be assured that the rest of my data will be reliable because most of

my audience do actually read newspapers, and they are also from a young age group so i can gather specific data.

Page 7: Audience questionnaire results

These are the responses as to why the rest of my audience do not read newspapers.

The majority of my audience prefer to read about national news so maybe it would be a good idea to feature some national news within my newspaper, however the newspaper i am producing is local so it would

have to also feature local news as well as national.

Page 9: Audience questionnaire results

Most of my audience said that they would prefer to read light hearted news which may be best suited for a younger audience. However with a local

newspaper i may have to deliver news for all types of people of different age groups within a local area so the news being delivered may have to be diverse

rather than consistently light-hearted. The job of a newspaper is to deliver news so it may be wrong to not deliver all kinds of news to the public because

a newspaper is used to inform the public.

These are examples of real newspapers my audience read, they are a mixture of tabloid newspapers and traditional newspapers. I can use these examples to do research relating to design and what news they deliver so that i can incorporate these features into my newspaper. It

will also make my newspaper look realistic and my audience can relate to my newspaper because it wont be challenging the conventions of

other newspapers.
