BOOK AUDIENCE

BOOK Mayowa Ajisafe

OBSCURITY IS ONE PROBLEM MOST AUTHORS FACED.
PEOPLE JUST DON’T KNOW SOME AUTHORS AND
THEIR BOOK EXISTED BUT USING FREE BOOK
GIVEAWAY IS ONE SMART WAY TO CREATE BUZZ AND
BE SEEN
The Need To Get Out And Get Word Out About Your Book
Wishing and dreaming to become a best seller is
cool but without the right promotion your books
could languish at the unattractive end of the every
online book store.
WHILE TRADITIONALLY PUBLISHED AUTHORS USUALLY HAVE THE LUXURY OF AN AGENT AND PUBLISHING HOUSE TO HANDLE THE
HEAVY LIFTING OF A MARKETING CAMPAIGN, AS A SELF PUBLISHED AUTHOR. YOU MUST TAKE THE LEAD IN RUNNING YOUR OWN
CAMPAIGN, GETTING THE WORD OUT TO YOUR POTENTIAL BOOK AUDIENCE AND BOOK BUYERS
But What Is The Best Book Giveaway Strategy?
There are many ways to market and promote book s
well as do free book giveaways and the problem is
that there are no definite rule to the best strategy to
ensure a runaway book giveaway success. Your book
might be better than anything else in your genre, but
even a full time promotion schedule may fail to get it
the attention it truly deserves.
But Surely There Are Three Major Determinants For A Successful
Book Giveaway Campaign
A well-orchestrated book giveaway could be
just the thing you need to bring your work to
a wider audience, and here we’re going to
look at three quick tips to help you spring
your book to success.
Here Are The Three Requirement For A
Successful Book Giveaway
1. Share
2. Target
3. Outreach
1. Share
It’s vital to get the word out well in advance. If you
run your own blog, post several times in the days
and weeks running up to the promotion. If you’re
on Facebook, create a fan page and ask your friends
to like it.
2. Target
To have successful giveaway campaign ,you need to get your
book in the hands of people who are your right book
audience - those predisposed to enjoy it.
If you’ve written an excellent religious thriller novel you
could give away a million copies, but if the recipients are all
fans of romance novel, you’re unlikely to see many post-
giveaway sales or positive reviews.
3. Outreach Ask yourself where your book target book audience are gathering
and this is just where you need to go to get the word out about
your free book giveaways.
Asking top authors, top bloggers and authorities in your niche
who already have your book audience as heir audience is a very
smart move to get the right buzz about your book giveaway.
Channels like Goodreads and Library Thing are also where you
can reach your book audience with your book giveaway.
Goodreads Is A Very Good Channel To Post Your
Book Giveaway
The Facebook For
Authors
I will call Goodreads The “Facebook For Authors And
Book Readers”
Perhaps one of the most powerful promotional tools
available to the exposure-hungry author today is the
Goodreads giveaway. The site, a social network that
operates much like a book club with millions of members.
IT offers authors the chance to get their book in front of
countless potential readers, and by offering a giveaway you
can not only generate interest in your latest book but also
generate immediate sales and reviews.
Using Goodreads Giveaway
Running a Goodreads Giveaway helps create a well
targeted buzz for your book as well as helping you to
create awareness for your book among the Goodreads
Ecosystem.
You also have higher chance of getting reviews from
your book giveaway winners. Winners can leave
reviews for your book if they like and enjoy it although
that is not really compulsory anyway but often than
not, they do.
As wonderful as using Goodreads to giveaway books
sounds, it has a huge drawback and that is the fact that they
only allow you to give away print book and not digital books
and this might be a bit pricey to giveaway large quantities of
your books to really maximize the benefits of the giveaway
and have more people have your free book.
But there is ye another better way to do free book giveaway
for both print and digital books to an audience as big as
what you can find on Goodreads.
The Drawback For Using Goodreads Giveaway
This is one of my favorite tools to get initial review
for my books, find my first set of targeted readers to
giveaway my book and build that initial email list of
beta readers and book reviewers. Here is one place
every authors should be spending some time to
periodically give away books (both digital (eBooks)
and physical book unlike Goodreads that allows only
physical books)
What About Using Social Media?
Social Media Sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn
and Google+ and maybe Instagram and Pinterest
can be another channel to reach your book audience
and give away your free book but this is a 80/20
Guide To Using Book Giveaway and I will have lot
of restraint to say anything about using all these
network.
Simply..
Social media can be a waste of time most times and
these website offer little or sometimes no gain in return
for the time most authors spend on them
Goodreads and Library Thing are channels solely meant
to connect book readers ad authors together and you are
better concentrating your book giveaway effort on these
two social networks for authors and book readers.
But if you have some money to spend, you can use paid
Facebook Ads,I once used this ethod with some great
results but if you don’t have the budget to spend on
ads,you can use these two free channels.
But Why?
What About Using Paid Ads?
Paid Ads can be a great way to get buzz for your book
via book giveaway if you have the budget to do so.
You can use paid Facebook Ads, I once used this
method with some great results and I have work with
authors who have use some expensive paid channels like
Bookpub and Kindle Nation Daily to give away there
books (with marketing baked into the free books) but if
you don’t have the budget to spend on ads, you can use
the free channels.
All you need to do is insert a simple call to action
on one or more pages of your book directing your
free giveaway readers to sign-up for your email list
in exchange for a maybe another freebie .The best
place to direct your readers to join your email list is
a simple landing page created to capture their name
and email address, and you can check my landing
page for my free giveaway for my blog as a non-
fiction author to see what a landing page should
look like
