BIO PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Working as a professional freelance translator since 2009 (full time since February 2011). An additional 11 years doing translations as part of my role as an International Relations Officer for a top Economics &

Business School in Spain. I also worked in:

•a human resources department •a library •different positions within the tourism and transportation (airline) industry.

CREDENTIALS- Master of Arts in Specialized Translation (University of Zaragoza, Spain, 2010).- Certificate in Professional Translation English to Spanish (University of Toronto, Canada, 2008).- Bachelor in Tourism (University Rey Juan Carlos, Madrid, Spain, 1990).- Other language-related certificates from Ryerson University (Toronto, Canada), Goethe Institut and Cambridge University.

RATES I generally charge per source word for translations and editing. Translation rates start from €0.08/word for English>Spanish and €0.10/word for

German>Spanish, and depend on different factors like:- difficulty of the source text- degree of specialist terminology- urgency- initial file format (documents with charts or images, in HTML, XML, etc.)- availability of reference material.

Payments by wire transfer or Paypal within 30 days of invoice date. (no checks, sorry!)

Currencies accepted: EUR, GBP, USD, CAD, NZD, CHF, and others. To balance risk management between translator and client an initial up-front payment may

be requested (30% of the total amount) for new clients with large translation projects. Discounts are available for full payment before delivery of the whole translation and for

large projects. They will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
