7 Tips for Using Verify
user experience design & strategy
VerifyApp.com (by Zurb) is a scrappy concept testing tool for those on a tight budget...
…but there are a few limitations & pain points to consider.
Here are our7 tips for using Verify & other things we learned the hard way.
Verify Tip #1Choose “linked test first,” and then you can customize which test formats you want to use.
Verify Tip #2Create a “throw-away” question so participants can practice using the tool before they see the “real” questions. At first, the tool can be a bit awkward for participants to use.
Verify Tip #3Optimize mock-ups for the web, otherwise images can take several minutes to load.
Also try to keep all mock-ups the same size, so the size doesn’t jump around from question to question.
Verify Tip #4Keep concepts above the fold, as many participants won’t know they can scroll down the page.
Verify Tip #5Set an Outlook reminder to yourself to reset the test on the 6th day. A test can only run 6 days, unless you reset it.
Verify Tip #6Allow for more participants than you actually need. Some will take the test multiple times; there is no way to restrict them.
Verify Tip #7Watch your test results closely. There is no way to turn off a test automatically once your quota is reached.
