EDITOR’S NOTEFor this month’s issue, we wanted to
brush up on a topic that everyone is
familiar with. Which is beauty. A uni-
versal word that everyone has different
definitions for. They say, beauty is in
the eyes of the beholder. Scratch that.
I say beauty is within you. Yes you, the
reader. Your individuality that explains
who you are; The characteristics that
you behold today. The way you chose to
express yourself... Now, that is beautiful.
Beauty is pain because we choose to
change ourselves to become a depiction
of what we believe is “Beauty.” When the
real beauty is how you were created. So
lets face it, unless you were born as a
twin, there is only one you in this world.
So express that to the fullest and let that
resonate in every step you take.

Heel Touches - Lay down with your back on the ground and
your knees bent and pointed towards the ceiling.
With your arms on your side raise your shoulders slightly off
the ground. Using your abs rotate your right hand down to
your right foot and then back up. Then do the same thing with your left hand.

Modified V-sits – Lie on your back, legs
straight and heels an inch off the floor,
hands at your sides. Lift your torso into an
upright position as you bend your knees and pull them up to your chest. Return to the starting position.
Reverse Crunches - Lie down on a bench with your knees
bent and your upper legs at a 90° angle with your torso;
grab the bench above your head for stability. Use your ab muscles to pull your knees
toward your chest until they reach your elbows. Hold the crunch position for 3 seconds and
return to the starting position.

Being beautiful… who doesn’t want that? But if we were
not born with it and we want to be good looking through
surgery like a nose job or a breast implant that could
face painful treatments or impacts. Do you dare to give
it a try?
For Marlin, an 18 year-old student year 12 at Sisowath
High school let us know that: “beauty is really important
for everyone, but if we endure the pain just to have it, I
don’t want that. Beside the fact that it’s painful, it takes a
lot of money to do just that and that beauty is not even
permanent. So I think no thank you.”
It goes the same for Bunna Roth, an 18 year-old student
at Bak Touk High School said that, “everyone wants to
have beauty, but for me, I only like natural beauty. I don’t
want to risk the surgery. I think before we go to plastic
surgery, we should know the risks afterward because
if there’s a technicality, it could lead to cancer later on.”
For Satya, a 22 year-old junior at University of Law and
Economics majoring in Economy stated that, “most of
the people who go for plastic surgeries are celebrities
because they give value to appearance and beauty, but
for me, I don’t think beauty is that important to spend
money being hurt and risk the future impacts. If we want
to be good looking, use the classic terms like exercise.”
But for Srey Nay, an 18 year-old student at Toul Svay
Prey High School year 11 said that, “I think plastic sur-
geries are normal because today beauty is really impor-
tant. Everyone wants to be good looking and with the
new technologies, the surgeries for changing our body
part are not painful anymore. If it’s not too expensive, I
want to give it a try maybe get a nose job or surgery to
lose weight.”

the clothing style is very important. When you know how
to play with your style that fit with you and the circum-
stances, it will make the people around you admire your
style and at the same time want to talk to you. “I think it
doesn’t matter whether a person is pretty or not, if they
know how to choose their clothes, they’ll be good look-
ing and, as well, their clothes will reflect their personali-
ties.”

“I think the women’s appearance is the first sight at-
traction to men, but the girls that we can take as our
partners are based on their personalities, the way they
talk; in short, the girls who follow Khmer traditions are
really cute!”

beauty salon "Doll House" can be established. What kind of
mystery behind the success of the store?
To the end of this question, we did an interview with Ryan Tay-
lor, a co-founder of the Western-style beauty shop, as follows:
- What is the story behind the name “Doll House”?
We named it “Doll House” because when the little girls played
with the dolls, they played with hair, clothes, and nails; so,
women would think that they come to “Doll House” to do things
for their beauty such as hair, nails and do make up etc,
- How is it operating a salon in Cambodia? And what are the
strategies that make “Doll House” become better than other
locals shop?
It is quite easy to run a business in Cambodia, but obviously
the obstacle part is we better have to keep updating to keep
clients coming to our salon. Therefore, we need to concentrate
in advertising and sponsorship is all what we think of. To be the
best beauty salon, we always keep up-to-date to the style and
use good quality products like Shampoo and Dyed Color which
we imported.
- How long have you been in business for?
Actually, we started running the salon on Valentine’s Day 2011;
so, it is been 3 years in running my salon.
- What Kind of services do you offer in your salon?
In our salon we serve all kind of beauty services such as Do
Make-up, basic of Manicure and Pedicure. Plus, we have almost
everything to do with hair like Hair Cutting, Coloring, Highlight-
ing, Hair Rebounding, and Chemically Straightening.
- The theme for this month is Beauty is pain, what does beauty
mean to you?
Of course, to get beauty as we want we need to sacrificed for
it in some ways like women wear high heels and it is not easier
than wear sneakers. However, with hair you do not have to
suffer, but sometimes people need to bleach the hair to be hard
blonde and it would be painful, also. To sum up, we must suffer
for our beauty.
- How does a person achieve beauty?
I think it’s important for a person to take care of their own beauty
and their appearances to fit with their faces and skin tones.
That’s why we want to be the best salon to take care this thing
based on their natural beauty .
- Some say beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, is that true?
the importance of a person is based on their inner beauty;
however, people judge others by the first impression and that
they would decide that they dolike you or not based on your ap-
pearances. It is not about pleasing everyone, but we need to be
ready for beauty both inside and outside for self-confident.
- Do you have anything special you would like to say to our read-
ers?
For hair and make-up, we also suggested the clients not to do
so much. We still stand on the natural is the best. Sometime, it
could cause you harmful if you do it too much.

On the 30th anniversary of the international
street painting Festival in Geldern, Edgar Muel-
ler, “one of the world’s top 3D illusionist street
painters”, painted a large sized, 3D picture once
more. He created scenery of an apocalyptic
Lava Burst, which invites the observer to pro-
ceed in the picture.
Once you’re there, you can feel you are walking
into an apocalyptic world, are you floating? Are
you drowned in the upside down atmosphere?
No, you are actually walking on the same street
you walk on yesterday, but today it sure doesn’t
feel the same…

HE from Spain, have organized Cambodia Fashion Illumination
2014 with collaboration with many important fashion people for
both local and foreigners for the most upper standard show in
Cambodia.

Followed with the new technologies, FireStorm doesn’t wait any
longer in the new version updated last week to bring the new in-
teresting mode, QRM_Ironman, that’s guaranteed to be fun. In the
QRM_Ironman mode, the robots that used to do the housework or
in the factory have become the fearless fighters to win the war for
their FireStorm masters.
The robots are divided into 3 categories:
Scout Mech is the robot with a slim figure and easy to be destroyed
but it has really fast movements, which allow them to be easy to
escape and attack.
For Universal Mech, it’s a medium robot figure with powerful
strength, but for its every move is taking a lot of strength. Compared
to Scout Mech, Universal Mech has more power, but move slower.
Now for Heavy Mech, it’s a heavy robot with steel armor that makes
Heavy Mech stronger than other robots. Nevertheless, the heavy
weight of the steel armor make Heavy Mech move very slow as well.
As well, in order to prevent the citizens’ feelings of safety or the
city’s security, FireStorm has included 2 more battle fields for the
robots’ wars including Sunset Cayon, that is the battle field in the
mountain’s area that the robots can fight along the valley, and Sand-
Storm Restricted that let the wars take place in a factory with tons of
natural resources in that area to take over the factory.

The tournaments finding the New Year Champion-
ship, NYC, is coming near again! What’s different
from last year is that the tournaments of the year al-
ways included JX, AK Online and Dota tournaments,
but this is the first time for the NYC that FireStorm will
run solo. This is the opportunity for FireStorm players
to show off their skills on stage for the first time.
So, for JX, AK, and Dota’s players who support the
NYC each year and are interested in joining the tour-
naments can try Sabay Leng’s latest entertainment
service and subscribe to show off your fighting strate-
gies in the Net shops that open for this tournaments
from today till the end of March to win the first place
of each net and get a place to continue the fight in the
NYC 2014 automatically.
With this solo tournaments in the NYC 2014, Fire-
Storm has prepared the total prize up to $10,000 that
is the largest prize in the history of NYC during these
4 years while the total prize of the NYC last years
were just up to $6000 - $7000 for each tournaments.
NYC is the tournaments finding the championship of
the year established by Sabay for all the Sabay fans

Hear My Song season 2 has launched on this
February 27th, at Cambodia-Japan Coop-
eration Center (CJCC) in Institute of Foreign
Language (IFL) under the present of H.E. Mr.
Khieu Kanharith, Minister of Information. For
this second season, there have been coop-
eration from 4 big entities: Ministry of Infor-
mation, Sabay Digital Corp, Madison and
TY KEA Co.,Ltd to sign the Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU) on the 27th February.
“Cambodian Flag” performed by Small World
Small Band is the song to open the events. Af-
terwards, there were “Here My Song” by Ma
Chanpanha, “Plech Kloun” by a group of stu-
dents from IFL and “Komjagn Prum Likhet” by
Count Us In to close the events. These songs
were to celebrate this Hear My Song music
competition that has been officially launched
to accept the applications to find the talents in
writing original music.
3 winners will be selected through the men-
toring and judging by our 4 judges including,
Mr. Sok Visal, Executive Producer & Director
of 391 Films production and the producer of
“Krob Pech”. Mr. Kong Piseth, musician and
singer of Sela Record, our well known musi-
cian Mr. Raty Donna and Ms. Khat Sokhim,
our well known folk singer.
The 4 judges have the important role in the
second round after fining the top 10. Each
judge will get to mentor at least 2 contestants
to advise them in their performances and they
get to assess 30% of the points to all the con-
testants to find the winners for the next rounds
as well as the last remanding 3.
