Here are the 5 brushes I use in order to achieve this look. The smaller the eyes, the smaller the brushes should be. These tools help define

the areas that tend to not pop out with mono lids.

Apply Primer, this will help the shadows stay on.

Apply a light color shadow to the eye lids with a concealer brush (1st brush in picture one) and the brow bone to highlight the area to make it appear larger.

Apply a soft brown, or a shade close to your skin color to help blend in the light color eye shadow. This should be applied a little above the crease. Tip- using an eye shadow brush blend in circular motion to help soft any harsh lines and follow your eye socket.

With a small define brush apply your black eye shadow. Starting at the corner to make your V, outline your crease. Make sure you don’t blend just yet. Pat

on dark eye shadow. You don’t need much product.

Pat on half way to lid and go back to starting point and continue to define your crease. You can go as dark as you want , but make sure you have time to blend , blend, blend,

and blend. Key point in a smokey eye is to blend. Don’t blend just yet. Using your small round brush (3rd) slowly blend in upwards

There is the reason why you pat on eyeshadow first. This helps with making sure you have the shade that you desire and it helps with not over using your

eye shadows , so it saves you a couple of bucks =)

Use an angle fluffy brush. This will help you blend in your eyeshadow to create a soft blend. Don’t worry I will show you the motions to help blend

your patted shadow you applied on your crease

Starting at the edge, Lightly blend in circular motion . You want to blend in the black into brown. Little by little you are moving up towards the brown to

help blend in your dark crease

As I am blending in the two colors , moving inward , I’m also spreading the remaining eye shadow on my brush to help soften my crease line. Remember

to focus more on the top part of crease. Not the lid

Slowly moving inward. Remember circular motion and make sure that the shorter angle is facing your inner corner of your eyes

Lightly brush some remaining eye shadow at the corner of eyes. Bring back to outer corner and repeat. Repeat as much as needed to blend in any harsh

Apply eyeliner!!

Here is a close up of how your smokey eye should look like. If u have any lines don’t give up. Using your large fluffy brush, focusing on the area go over it

until it has blend in.

The reason why I advise to keep the lids lighter , it helps bring out small lids making it appear a lot larger, focusing on the crease and the base helps create a define bridge that most asians or mono lids don’t have. Hi it’s me Jennifer from JME

Apply the same brown or the close skin shade you have at the bottom outer corner to help soften

Sweeping brown eye shadow down to eyelash line

Using brush number 2 , apply brown eye shadow down to your lash line

Re- introducing the “refiner”. Appy black eye shadow to waterline

Moving back and forth to blend in the black

Using a sponge, clean out any fall out products and redefine your V at the outer corner of your eyes for a cleaner look

Sweep it back and forth to help remove any excess products. Not a lot of pressure needed.

Here is my ending look!! I hope that my tips have helped you achieve your smokey eye. We as mono lids will not be limited to jus eye liner and basic neutral colors. Feel free to experiment any colors with the smokey eye. Purple, blue and pink looks great in a smokey eye. Remember there is no rules to make-up . There is going to be a smokey eye with black base on lids coming soon!
