What is Journey Insurance? It is all about getting covered in case you

meet with an accident on your journey to or from work. The NSW government

had taken this insurance away from health workers in 2012 but the HSU

with its constant efforts has managed to gift it back to health workers. As

part of the insurance, you get monetary assistance of up to 85 % of your weekly salary to a maximum of

1500 dollars per week.

Under the journey insurance, members are also covered for a variety of

treatments for certain specific injuries. The best part is you need not pay any

charges for being covered. All you need to do is become a member of the

HSU or Health Services Union.

The HSU also offers Bereavement benefit in case of death of the

member. The family gets a financial assistance of 10,000 dollars that can

be used for immediate expenses. Please note that the bereavement

benefit ceases once a member is 70 years old.
