In Canada the system of diagnosis identifies 10 different types of personality disorders that are grouped into 3 different categories. (phac.aspc.gc.ca)

PARANOID PERSONALITY DISORDERPeople with PPD tend to have little trust for other people and often assume that others motives are meant to be hurtful. BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDERPeople with BPD have intense mood changes and high anxiety such as intense panic and worrying. DEPENDENT PERSONALITY DISORDERPeople with DPD tend to feel helpless and uncomfortable alone. They feel an extreme need to be taken care of and often cling to other people. Learning about these different types of disorders is significant to my life because I work with people with mental health problems or delays and have people in my personal life who have been diagnosed with a couple of these disorders.Learning about these will be beneficial to my future career plans as I plan to go into the Social Work program and intend to always work in a mental health field.
