In 1968, Miles Laboratory, makers of "One-A-Day" brand of vitamins and developers

of Chocks, the first chewablemultivitamins, acquired the Flintstones

brand mainly as a marketing strategy toengage kids into taking multivitamins.

the multivitamins wereFred, Wilma, Barney,

Bamm-Bamm, Pebbles andFred's Car AKA The

Flintmobile. One reasonwhy Betty was not included

Rosie O'Donnell, the actress whoplayed Betty in the 1994 movieadaptation, was one of the vocalsupporters of "Bite Into Betty", acampaign that helped launchthe inclusion of said character tothe vitamin line-up. Thecampaign was a landslide,gaining 91 percent of the entirecount, in favor of bringing Bettyinto the bottle, and replacing theFlintmobile for good.
