Loved and Lost….

Can’t I just explain my feelings?Just once.

For a while I loved a special person.Though we were apart several times,

I still felt as if they were the only thing in the world.They finally gave up on me.

Shouldn’t I?I don’t think it matters.

My heart is an ocean of secrets.I never told them everything that

goes on in my life.

The only thing my eyes can see,Is no longer there to guide me.

They changed me.

I didn’t act the same.I only felt the love around me.

But now it’s gone.

I know they gave up because it was my fault.

I’m even willing to do anything to have my hand in their’s.

I now know why.

For you see, I thought they were the reason we had these consistent fights.

Alas, I look back and see that I was the one who started.

I went by what people told me about their past.

If I could start over,Oh, the happiness I’d give you.

I’m sorry I wasn’t the one.

And when that day comes,I’ll still think of you…

But because of you,I know what to say and what not to say.

It’ll hurt for a while,In time it’ll heal.
