5 OVERVIEW OF TRENDS IN HIT INDUSTRY

Health IT industry sees 47% growth for 2013 YTD in comparison to corresponding time period for 2012 The number of investors as well as the interests of investors are expanding dramatically in the industry. As investors continue to invest in similar areas over time, other new sectors garner more attention due to new trends in healthcare. Top five deals represent 59% of July 2013 total funding, with four being Series A Investors continue to take interest in popular sectors such as Practice Management and Big Data/Analytics. These sectors dominate the top five deals for July 2013. In comparison to July 2012, new sectors emerge in top four largest funded sectors of July 2013 As startups in all sectors deal with long-term problems and solutions, some sectors continue to emerge in top funding deals. However, new areas such as Sensors/Body Computing grow in funding due to consumer trends.
