4. DISEASE
- But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the
voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all His commandments
and statutes, that all these curses shall come upon thee and
overtake thee.Deut. 28 : 15
- DISEASE IS THE RESULT OFDISOBEYING THE LAWS OF GOD BOTH NATURAL
AND SPIRITUAL!
5. Disease: Where does it come from?
- Diseasenevercomes without a cause, the way is first prepared,
and disease invited by disregarding the laws of health .
6. PRESERVED FROM DISEASE IF AS A PEOPLE THEY HAD LIVED
ACCORDING TOGODS PLAN , THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN PRESERVED FROM THE
DISEASES THAT AFFLICTED OTHER NATIONS. THEY WOULD HAVE POSSESSED
PHYSICAL STRENGTH AND VIGOR OF INTELLECT.MH 283 7. GODS PLANFOR THE
PRESERVATION AND RESTORATION OF HEALTH. 8. Disease: What Should We
Do?
- In case of sickness the cause should beascertained ,
unhealthful conditions should bechanged , wrong habits corrected.
Then nature is to be assisted in her efforts to expel impurities
and reestablish right conditions in the system.
- Ministry of Healing, p. 127
9. In Case of Sickness we are to:
- #1. Find out the causethe laws of health that have been
broken.
- #2. Remove the causecorrect wrong habits
- A. to expel impurities (cleanse, detoxify)
- B. to restore the system to health
10. Find out the cause When the abuse of health is carried so
far that sickness results, the sufferer can often do for himself
what no one else can do for him. The first thing to be doneIs to
ascertain the true character of the sickness and then go to work
intelligently to remove the cause .MH 235 11. Godly Trust Genesis

- Symptoms-Depression, anxiety, irritability, chronic fatigue,
nervous exhaustion, unable to cope, insomnia, panic attacks, unable
to relax, tightening of stomach muscles, increased blood pressure,
sweaty palms, nervous twitches, tooth grinding, trembling when not
cold, tense muscles especially shoulder muscles.
16. Causes
- Pressures, problems at home or at work, special occasions,
crowds, noise, pain, traffic, temperature extremes, overwork or
overload, lack of sleep, smoking, alcohol, television, loud music,
deadlines, family relationships, death, sickness, finances
17. Results of Stress
- 80 % of all major illnesses including cancer, back problems,
cardiovascular, skin and infectious diseases. When the adrenals
suffer from stress it lowers the immune systems ability to protect
from infection and cancer, depression, diabetes, arthritis, ulcers,
tuberculosis, hypertension
18.
- While grief and anxiety cannot remedy a single evil, they can
do great harm; but cheerfulness and hope, while they brighten the
pathway of others, "are life unto those that find them, and health
to all their flesh" (Proverbs 4:22).--ST, Feb 12, 1885.{1MCP

19.
- Faith in God's love and overruling providence lightens the
burdens of anxiety and care. It fills the heart with joy and
contentment in the highest or the lowliest lot. Religion tends
directly to promote health, to lengthen life, and to heighten our
enjoyment of all its blessings. It opens to the soul a
never-failing fountain of happiness. {CE 68.1}
20.
- Gossiping and anxiety concerning the external appearance have
often taken the precious time that should have been devoted to
prayer for wisdom and strength from God to fulfill this most sacred
trust. Fathers and mothers who are wise unto salvation will seek to
make their surroundings such that they will be favorable to the
formation of correct character in their children. {CTBH 138.2}
21. MH 358
- Above all lower orders of being, God designed that man, the
crowning of his creation, should express His thought and reveal His
glory. But man is not to exalt himself as God.
22. MH 395
- We cannot allow ourselves to act from impulse. We cannot be off
guard for a moment. Beset with temptations without number, we must
resist firmly or be conquered. Should we come to the close of life
with our work undone, it would be an eternal loss. The life of the
apostle Paul was a constant conflict with self. He said, I die
daily.
23.
- The love which Christ diffuses through the whole being is a
vitalizing power. Every vital part--the brain, the heart, the
nerves--it touches with healing. By it the highest energies of the
being are roused to activity. It frees the soul from the guilt and
sorrow, the anxiety and care, that crush the life forces. With it
come serenity and composure. It implants in the soul joy that
nothing earthly can destroy--joy in the Holy Spirit--health-giving,
life-giving joy (The Ministry of Healing, p. 115).
24.
- Jesus shows that in making the things of the world their
supreme anxiety they were like the heathen nations about them. . .
.{AG 21.2}
- "All these things," said Jesus, "do the nations of the world
seek after" (Luke 12:30). . . . I have come to open to you the
kingdom of love and righteousness and peace. Open your hearts to
receive this kingdom, and make its service your highest interest.
Though it is a spiritual kingdom, fear not that your needs for this
life will be uncared for. . . .{AG 21.3}
- Jesus does not release us from the necessity of effort, but He
teaches that we are to make Him first and last and best in
everything. We are to engage in no business, follow no pursuit,
seek no pleasure, that would hinder the outworking of His
righteousness in our character and life. Whatever we do is to be
done heartily, as unto the Lord.{AG 21.4}
25. Fighting STRESS
- But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;
and all these things shall be added unto you.Mat 6:33
- Acknowledge God during the day
- Remedy for Anxiety .--God cares for everything and sustains
everything that He has created. . . .No tears are shed
- that He does not notice. There is no smile that He does not
mark.{2MCP 471.5} If we would but fully believe this, all undue
anxieties would be dismissed. Our lives would not be so filled with
disappointment as now; for everything, whether great or small,
would be left in the hands of God, who is not perplexed by the
multiplicity of cares or overwhelmed by their weight. We should
then enjoy a rest of soul to which many have long been
strangers.--SC 86 (1892).{2MCP 472.1}
26.
- Spread out your case before the Lord, and whatever your
anxieties and trials, your spirit will be braced for endurance. The
way will be opened before you to disentangle yourself from
embarrassment and difficulty. You need not go to the next town or
to the ends of the earth to learn what course you shall pursue.
Trust in God as your present Helper, who will overrule all things
as One who knows best.--Manuscript 15, March 14, 1897, "Individual
Experience Necessary."{TDG 82.3}

- We should neglect nothing that would serve to benefit a human
being. Let everything be gathered up that will relieve the
necessities of earths hungry ones MH 48-49
- Human effort will be efficient in the work of God just
according to the consecrated devotion of the worker by revealing
the power of the grace of Christ to transform the life. We are to
be distinguished from the world because God has placed His seal
upon us, because he manifests in us His character of love. Our
redeemer cover us with his righteousness. MH 37

peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good
cheer; I have overcome the world.
34. Mat 6:25
- Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what
ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what
ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than
raiment?

- the time will soon come when there will be no safety in using
eggs, milk, cream, or butter, because disease in animals is
increasing in proportion to the increase of wickedness among men.
The time is near when, because of the iniquity of the fallen race,
the whole animal creation will groan under the diseases that curse
our earth.7T 135
72. There are those who ought to be awake to the danger of meat
eating, who are still eating the flesh of animals, thus endangering
the physical, mental, and spiritual health. Many who are now only
half converted on the question of meat eating will go fromGod's
people to walk no more with them. {CD 382.1} 73. Animals are
becoming more and more diseased, and it will not be long until
animal food will be discarded by many besides Seventh-day
Adventists. 7T 124 74.
- By the indulgence of perverted appetite, man loses his power to
resist temptation.MH 335
- The controlling power of appetite will prove the ruin of
thousands, when, if they had conquered on this point, they would
have had moral power to gain the victory over every other
temptation of Satan. But those who are slaves to appetite will fail
in perfecting Christian character. The continual transgression of
man for six thousand years has brought sickness, pain, and death as
its fruits. And as we near the close of time, Satan's temptation to
indulge appetite will be more powerful and more difficult to
overcome.--Testimonies, vol. 3, pp. 491, 492.{Te 21.2}
