CENTRIC RELATION RECORD


The fingers are placed along the inferior border of the mandible.


With the thumbs in position, the mandible is manipulat ed into a centric relation position


The temporomandibular ligament (TML) acts as the posterior limit and fulcrum (F)

The downward force of the thumbs and upward force of the fingers help to seat the condyles in the posterosuperior portion of the glenoid fossa


Template for the baseplate wax arch form.


Baseplate wax is adapted to the maxillary arch.


Cuts are placed between the lateral incisor and canine on each side.


Orientation tabs are folded over the labial surfaces of both canines.


The cuts between the lateral incisors and canines are extended to remove an anterior wedge.


Excess wax outside the buccal cusp tips is trimmed


Green stick compound is molded to form the anterior programming device.


The patient holds the programming device in position while the operator manipulates the mandible

If the mandibular cusp tips do not leave indentations, the thickness of the arch form is increased with Aluwax.


ONE-QUARTER INCH (6.0-MM) LENGTHS OF BITE REGISTRATION PASTE (A)

A small amount of registration paste is placed in each functional cusp tip imprint.
