Connolly Counseling and Assessment Provides Individuals, Couples,
Group Therapy and Counseling Services in Southern California
Connolly Counseling and Assessment is a private company in California with a team of
professional therapist and psychologist providing therapy assessment and counseling for
individuals, children, groups, couples and families. The company was founded in 2011 under the
leadership of a licensed psychologist and currently the executive director, Dr. Bob Connolly. Dr.
Connolly has more than 20 years of experience working on various medical and psychiatric
institutions and successfully handled numerous clients in different states. He is also an experienced
high school teacher, educational consultant, math tutor, medical social worker, hospital case
manager and psychiatric hospital administrator.
SERVICES:
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is a personal counseling process that covers individual psychological treatment
being done by a professional therapist. It’s an interaction between the psychotherapist and a
person who seeks help and both will work together to discuss and solve the problem.
Connolly Counseling has a group of individual therapists who would handle this personal issue and
able to dedicate their time to help and support any individuals who are having trouble understanding
themselves, their habits and outlooks in life.
Couples Counseling
This type of therapy involves a couple who seek advice and willing to discuss about their marriage or
relationship issues. Connolly therapist can help new or old couples learn how to manage their
relationship better, hot to interact with each other as well as guide them with their decisions.
Group Therapy
It’s a psychological therapy being done with a group of 3 or more people being assisted by one
or more therapist. The members of each group are gathered and divided based on their specific
stages and involvement. Trained therapist in Connolly Counseling helps each group connect with
other people, build trust and respect to others, improve interrelationship skills and acquire support
from the group.
Family Therapy
Family therapy is a psychological treatment being provided for families who are having issues
such as marriage, divorce, adolescent period, sibling conflicts, parents in law problem and any other
family related subjects. Connolly therapists can help resolve family matters through educating them
with the right approaches, discuss about their strengths and weaknesses, how to deal with
their emotions and how to improve the relationship of each family members.
Testing and Assessment
Testing and Assessment is a process of evaluating a person’s behavior and personality based on how
he/she respond on a psychological examination. Connolly counseling has come up with effective
strategies through conducting a psychological assessment and testing to study and learn the causes,
symptoms and background of a person who is having an emotional and mental condition. They’ve
prepared questionnaires, print outs, interactive tests, visual aids and instruments and all throughout
this evaluation, the therapist can easily identify the right approach and recommendations that they
will present to the client.

Psychiatric Therapy
The initial assessment consists of a comprehensive history including: (1) the most important
concerns and symptoms that brought you in for an assessment, (2) detailed information about your
past psychiatric treatments, (3) complete medical history, (4) current medications, (5) family
history, (6) substance abuse history, and (7) social history. This initial assessment is done because
it is important to have a complete understanding of all the biological, psychological, and social
factors that may be contributing to your current symptoms. With your consent, your significant
other, family members, or friends may also be interviewed to gain a better understanding of the
issues at hand. Additionally, you will be asked to provide a release of information to allow us to
obtain your medical records from your other providers including your primary medical doctor,
psychotherapist, and previous psychiatrist.
Chemical dependency
Chemical dependency describes as “primary illness or disease which is characterized by addiction to a mood-altering chemical. Chemical dependency includes both drug addiction and alcoholism (addiction to the drug alcohol). A chemically dependent person is unable to stop drinking or taking a particular mood-altering chemical despite serious health, economic, vocational, legal, spiritual, and social consequences. It is a disease that does not see age, sex, race, religion, or economic status. It is progressive and chronic and if left untreated can be fatal”. We have caring professionals that will
