KURUPUKARI CROSSING

It is the Essequibo River crossing point on the Linden-Lethem Road

We will be crossing the river on a pontoon

IWOKRAMAOne of the 4 last pristine

tropical forests in the world

It is used as a research center for sustainable management and biodiversity

We will explore it using the Canopy Walkway

ANNAI- RADIO PARAMAKIt is a major transit point

for interior travel in Guyana between Linden and Lethem

It is a major peanut producing community

We hope to send greetings to villages in the Rupununi

KARANAMBU

It was once a leader in cattle ranching and balata collection in Guyana

Diana McTurk pioneered the Karanambu Trust and the Karanambu Lodge

We will swim with the otters and turtles

LETHEM

It is the border town between Brazil and Guyana

It was the epicenter of the 1969 Rupununi Uprising

We will be executing community development projects

We will host a Youth Crusade

RUINS OF THE MOCO MOCO HYDROPOWER STATION

It was a project financed by the People’s Republic of China designed by the Yatai Institue

It went into operations in May 1999

We will view the ruins of this hydropower station

RICHARD SCHOMBURGK’S PEAKIt is named after Richard

Schumberg, an explorer who executed many of the initial geographic surveys of Guyana

We will climb and overnight on the peak

We will plant the Golden Arrow Head alongside the Christian Flag on the summit

BONFIN

It is the closest Brazilian border town to Lethem

We will explore and shop in the city during a day trip
