ForBeginners
Ingredients...250g Unsalted Butter, melted & cooled
Melted butter
4 eggs, lightly whisked
410g jar fruit mince
1 cup selfraising flour
1/2 cup orange juice
2 1/2 teaspoons mixed spice
1 tablespoon finely grated orange rind
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups plain flour
800g dried mixed fruit
2 tablespoons apricot jam
1 cup blanched almonds
1/3 cup brandy
Preheat the oven to 150°C. Take 22 cm cakepan & grease it with melted butter . Line the side
& base with three layers of non stick bakingpaper, extending 5 cm above edge.
Take a large saucepan & mix fruit mince, dried fruit,orange juice & orange rind over medium low heat. Sirring
until fruits get soften. Set aside for at least 30 mins to cool.Add the brandy & stir well.
Add sugar & butter to the fruit mixture & stir well. Addmixed spice & combined flours into it. Add eggs and stir
well until mixed properly. With the help of a spoon, smooththe surface. Take the almond and arrange them on the top
of the cake.
Bake the cake for 3.15 hours in the preheated oven. Checkwhether inserted toothpick comes out clean from the cake.
If yes, then your kuchen is all ready.
Remove it from the oven, brush it with apricot jam. Wrapcake in a large tea towel with foil & keep aside to cool
completely.
