Экспонируемые живописные работы относятся к разным периодам творчества Марьи Львовой, они различаются по концепции, формату и гамме и объединены лишь по одному общему признаку – желанию свежего воздуха.

Fresh air is very healthy for everyone. A practise of “airing” things has infinite number of synonyms among which “taking for a walk” is the best way to describe what’s going on in the Gallery.

Those oil paintings on the show belong to different periods of Maria Lvov life in art. They differ in concepts, format and colouristics but they can be characterized by a one common feature -a desire for fresh air.

Isn’t it a familiar sensation?

Красив ли мир сам по себе? А кто его знает – для каждого он разный: ведь мир – лишь наше представление о нем. Мир, который предлагают картины Марии Львовой, подкорректирован глазом художника таким образом, чтобы дать объ-екту возможность проявить скрытые в нем потенции – так тень березы само-вольно свивает гнездо, которого нет на самой березе, а брошенный на помойке мраморный бюстик Брежнева со сколотым носом превращается во франтовато-го фрика в нарисованных темных очках и кричащем пиждаке. Антены и провода обнаруживают тоску по средневековой романтике, ненавязчиво превращаясь в стрелку флюгера, указывающего куда-то за пределы холста, где современные московские крыши имеют шанс ощетиниться иглами средневековых пинаклей... Мария Львова подсказывает: мир МОЖЕТ быть красив, все зависит от взгляда наблюдателя. В любом случае, он, этот мир, безоговорчно интересен.

Всё живёт и всё умирает: города, люди, небо, деревья.Живое прорастает сквозь мёртвое, которое уже растёт в живом: остатки стен ста-новятся колыбелью молодым деревьям, чтобы когда-то стать для них могилой.Свет играет с тенью, оставаясь равнодушным к любой поверхности: засеянно-му всяким городским хламом полю крыш, изгибу молодого листа, невидимой глазу границе стенного провала.Только ветер всему рад и всем опечален, всё обнимает и всё отталкивает, по-ворачивает давно затвердевшую голову вождя с такой же лёгкостью, с какой кружит городской пылью.В мире Марии Львовой ты снова спишь, путая яркость красок сна с серостью и унылостью будней, и снова просыпаешься к живости восприятия, пытаясь вспомнить, что же тебе снилось.

КАК отворяются двери восприятия?Восхищение, боль, юмор, стыд, любовь, мастерство – и вот: обыденный мир в цветном тумане, странен и нов. Лёгкий сдвиг точки сборки перемещает меня в сказочный трип о мире, которым его видит только она.Разбей эти окна и окажешься в мощном потоке ветра, света, запахов и зву-ков, и бог знает чего ещё в этом зазеркалье.

Is this world beuatiful in itself? God knows – it’s different for everyone: since the world is only our idea of it. The world in Maria Lvov paintings is corrected by the eyes of a painter in a way to give an object a chance to display its latent potential. Thus a shadow of a birch tree makes a nest which is not on a real tree and a marble Brezhnev bust without a nose turns into a fancy freak in a dark glasses and ridiculous jacket. Antennas wires reveal its longing for medieval romanticism lightly transforming into an arrow on a roof top which points somewhere beyond the canvas where the modern Moscow roofs have a chance to arm themselves with the needles of the medieval pinnacles. Maria Lvov tells us that the world can be beautiful. Everything depends on the view of the beholder, In any case this world is without doubts is interesting.

Everything lives and dies in due course: cities, people, sky and trees.Living things grow through the dead which is already growing in the living things: the ruins of the walls become a cradle for the young trees to turn later in their grave.Light is playing games with a shadow remaining indifferent to any surfaces: to the fields of the roofs seeded with the city garbage, to the curves of the young leaves, to the invisible tear in a wall.Only wind is happy and forlorn with everything in the same breath. It embraces everything and pushes it away at the same time. It turns the head of the Chief which hardened long ago with the same easiness as it dances with the city dust.In the world of Maria Lvov one can fall asleep again, confusing the brightness of the colors of a dream with the greyness and spleen of everyday life and then awake to the alertness of the comprehension trying to recollect one’s dream.
