TRY BEFORE YOU BUY: THE PROBLEMS WITH ONLINE

SHOPPING

The fashion industry was first hesitant about online

shopping for the main reason that they feared consumers would

not buy luxury fashion they couldn’t try on first.

To address this issue many retailers offered great

customer service & flexible shipping and return policies but still

found that people were returning their purchases due to poor fit. If only there were something that could solve this problem…

» It enables shoppers to try on clothes to check the size, fit or style, but virtually rather than physically

» Features include:

Size recommendation services Photo-accurate fitting room with

real 3D simulation Dress-up mannequins/mix-and-

match Real models Offers suggestions based on

fashion pieces that have been chosen

WHAT IS A VIRTUAL DRESSING ROOM?

Page 4: create an app fit1000

D ress Me is an app accessible to smartphone users. Essentially it’s a virtual fitting room that allows you to take and use your own photo to try on clothes from your

favorite clothing stores and use your personal body measurements rather than a model with unrealistic body measurements. Virtually as opposed to physically, you can

try on clothes from any of your favorite stores.

(as long as they have their own website or app)

» Less returned items» Happier customers/

Retailers

THE PROBLEMS

What does it solve?

Why does this have to be solved?

» 25% of purchases online are being

returned, this ultimately leads to higher prices on clothes because stores

have to make their profit back

How is it solving this?» Customers get to see how

the clothing item looks on them personally rather than a model so they’ll

know right away if the fit and style is right for them

When?» Dress Me can be

done anywhere at anytime

» Consumers don’t have to wait for stores operating

hours

Page 6: create an app fit1000

»Generally, women’s clothing stores offer this service more than men, although some men’s stores also supply this feature

» High-end

»Potentially weight conscience people who may be too shy to

bring multiple sizes into dressing rooms to find the right fit» Deter sales

»Lazy or Really busy!» Avoid clothing limit policies» Don’t want/have time to visit the actual store

convenient and comfortable. D r e ss M e is the perfect app to assist online shoppers with finding the perfect fit and style of

clothes they love. Hopefully, avoiding the annoying trip to the actual store they were

trying to escape in the first place just to make an unsatisfying return.
