What is #ChalkWalk?1. It is to create a bold, visual statement to reclaim the streets where

so many people are harassed everyday.

2. It is to bring awareness to street harassment in your community.

3. All it takes is some sidewalk chalk, anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours of your time, and some great energy!

4. It is to proclaiming our freedom, healing ourselves, and telling the the world, “I have the right to be here. To be me. To walk wherever, whenever, however I please.” We will literally use sidewalk chalk to reclaim our streets, by writing messages about our right to be there and to walk safely, without harassment.


How to do a #ChalkWalk?1. A place needed for about 500 – 700 metres to start it.

2. After that a gathering of enthusiastic people to carry out this walk.

3. You can start the walk in the form of carrying visuals like placards , posters, slogans etc talking about harassment in any form. Remember while standing with these visuals you will act as a mute speaker and your visuals should speak volumes.

4. Some people can scribble with colorful chalks on some part of the street that is choosen to carry out this activity.

5. During the walk a background music is required to keep this activity engaging and lively for the participants.
