In fast changing competitive environment, the expectations of the customer are rising and this leads

to the demand of better quality, product and services. To meet this requirement organizations are increasing

their capacity of production and quality of service . When such kind of efforts are being made by the

organizations they have to face the challenges of variations in process of manufacturing of product and

delivery of service. These variations may be external or

internal, but they affect the quality of product or service provided by the organization to their deemed

customers. If the variations are not controlled by the organizations then it may cause of customer

complaints, decreasing production efficiency, increasing reworking cost, increasing waste and most important,

loss of goodwill in the market.

To study, analyze and control these variations, Statistical Process Control (SPC) is required, which

include 7 basic tools of quality for systematic problem solving.

7 QC Tools are used to analyze the process, collecting

data, study the impact of the problem, finding most

significant causes for the problem, develop quantitative relationship between cause and effect of the problem,

control the process with in the working limits.

7 QC Tools were developed by Dr. Kaoru Ishikawa, A famous quality guru. “According to him 95% quality related problem can be solved with help of 7 QC Tools.”
