Wimbledon has a long history as a specialist art

institution – we’ve been around since the

1890s.

Wimbledon has an excellent reputation in the

industry for both its Theatre & Screen and Fine

Art specialisms

All our academic staff are practising artists,

designers and makers.

Our small campus also means that you get a

really personal experience here at Wimbledon

whilst at the same time being part of a much

larger creative community.

Wimbledon enjoys fantastic links with the

creative industries and provides the

opportunity for students to exhibit their work

and gain experience alongside practicing

artists from the 1st year.

In the second year of the course as part of the

Personal Professional Development module,

students undertake either a placement with an

artist or gallery or other forms of professional

experience such as organising or curating an

external exhibition.

Accommodation

Due to the wide range of college locations around the city – the University of the Arts London is not a ‘campus style’ institution.

This means that students at Wimbledon live in a diverse variety of areas. UAL aim to give all first year students a place in halls such as Furzedown Hall in Tooting which is ideally located for Wimbledon students.

A lot of student decide to rent private accommodation, either way the Student Accommodation service are dedicated to ensuring that all UAL students get the support they need when choosing accommodation.

Some of the most popular areas to live locally are: Wimbledon, Raynes Park, Colliers Wood, Tooting, Streatham and Camberwell.
