Citation preview

All students have a right to a broad and balanced education and teaching all KLAs, including PDHPE, is critical in facilitating this.

Through learning experiences from PDHPE, students get to explore a range of physical activities and develop their self esteem

while also acquiring skills to make decisions and solve problems.

Clearly, PDHPE focuses on

teaching and leaning in areas

that no other KLA covers, but all depend on. A key message from the PDHPE syllabus is that it “is directly concerned with supporting the development of the student as a whole person. Its implementation has the potential to contribute to improved and on going quality of life for all individuals within the community” (NSW BOS 2006)

PDHPE teaches life skills to prepare students for a positive,

long, active and healthy life.
