3 Rules of Thumb

Avoid Gossip: Seek advice from the right person (see other slide), then act. Talking about an interpersonal problem beyond this erodes staff culture.

Do your best to assess the problem: Sometimes problems span several categories (interpersonal, curricular, co-teaching). Do your best to identify the root of the problem. Go see the appropriate person. If they disagree with your diagnosis, they’ll send you to the right person

Be Proactive: If you have a question, seek an answer. Small problems become bigger when you don’t act on the question/problem right away.
