With the use of virtual field trips, there is no place too far for a visit. Videos have the potential to provide us with factual information including how things are made and the varied roles and occupations in our society. Virtual field trips can enhance, not replace, books and learning experiences in the classroom. Teachers have the opportunity to expose students to virtually any place in the world. The ‘Easy Guide: Virtual Field trips’ provides a list of recommended websites to visit where you can access high quality virtual field trips. Also, visit our YouTube channel at simplifiedstrategies.org to access free, organized virtual field trips that we find appropriate for early education. There are many aspects of our world that are of interest to students, yet logistical constraints prevent teachers from going on actual field trips to explore the varied aspects of our world. There are even some places of interest, like the inside of a volcano or deep in the sea, that are literally impossible to visit. Virtual field trips open a world of possibilities unlimited by constraints including time, place, and cost. Destinations include a fire station, sheriff’s office, children’s hospital, dentist, horse farm, science museum, weather station, public library, construction site, zoo, airport, bank, animal center, recycling center, and a kindergarten classroom. Registration is required but free.
