More flexible Approach to learning

Take advantage of a new wave of electronic devices that offer portability and ease of use on a budget. Netbooks, iPads, cell phones, iPods, e-readers and even PDAs are increasingly becoming the tools of choice for today's educators (Jonathan Wylie; Scholastics).

Cost of Technology

Many public schools may have grants to cover technology.

Private schools; such as Saint James in Montgomery, students purchase iPads in the 6th grade and Mac Books in 9th grade. This has their books for class downloaded.Parents and grandparents are also invited to participate in a forum for the technology the students bring home. This is to teach them how to navigate through if they need assistance with homework.

Strengths and Advantages

Cheaper than purchasing books each year

Saves time in class

Teachers find the strengths and weaknesses of each student

Prepares them more for the future

SMART Technologies

SMART Boarders where introduced to me in the 6th grade, while these were only included in a small portion of the lecture, because we were able to interact it made learning fun.

The core of a 21st-century classroom is the interactive whiteboard. It's the largest piece of technology and the focal point for whole-class teaching and learning.

SMART Technologies include: Interactive Whiteboard, Projector, Teacher Computer, Audio System, and an Interactive Response System.

Improving Engagements through Classroom Technology

JumpStart, and LeapFrog for Elementary school computer labs or downloading it to classroom computers.

These games hold interest while learning.
