Teachers can create an assignment and enter all their students or students can log in themselves with a code.

Students have their own login and password to receive assignments

Students can share their stories via email, FB, Twitter, Pintrest, Tumbler or Google

Teachers can set a due date, view each story that has been submitted, and then comment.

You can follow favorite artists and writers, and they can follow you. It is fun to comment on their stories, and read the comments

on yours!

To create a story, search from new pictures every day.

Choose an artist you like and click, “Use this Art”

You will see all the artwork by this artist. Choose the pictures that will work for your story.

Customize your cover by choosing a color, and write a title for your story

Use the pictures to generate ideas for your story, rather than trying to fit the pictures into a preconceived story.

Keep the assignment in mind as you write. Don’t forget to check your rubric! Do you have a clear beginning, middle and end? Have you included emotions and dialogue (as your assignment reads)?

Email your friend to ask if he or she would like to collaborate with you, or choose someone from your teacher’s list that is posted on

your assignment page.

In the “Explore” mode, Story Bird suggests featured stories. You can search by author, artist or theme. Teachers can assign stories to read as examples before you start your

assignment, or students can read them for enjoyment and comment on them.

Stories are written for Pre-K to adult audiences.

Collaborate with a friend from class to write a poem. Your teacher can set you up with friends to collaborate with from another

country!

Would you like to write a story for Mother’s Day? You can publish it and share it with your mother on any social network, or email it

to her.

Before publishing your story, write a summary and state what age range your story targets. We see that authors and artists are from

all over the world and write about nearly everything!
