•Throughout the session, you will also be participating in an online Edmodo class with various activities to be completed between group demos.

BYOD/ 1:1 Management Strategies

•Reevaluate the setup of your classroom- can you move throughout the room while eyeballing the devices if necessary? (*set up a charging station for convenience and less interruptions)

•Use the “screens down” method if you need learners complete attention (also, use consistent phrases-“face down”, “all eyes”, “airplane mode”, etc.

More BYOD/ 1:1 Management Strategies

• Admit to your students that this is a fluid, evolving process (BYOD and 1:1)- you will accept and adapt new tech use, but let them know guidelines and usages may change as the process continues• Set clear expectations• Differentiate the task (if a student is disengaged from a

task and seems to be easily distracted, ask them for reasons. It might be that he/she doesn’t want to type an essay using Pages, but rather prepare a screencast using ShowMe?)

Even More BYOD/ 1:1 Management Strategies

•Group the students

•Have a back-up plan… and a back-up back-up plan

• If you’re super nervous, use Guided Access and/ or a “keep the device flat” rule.
