Twitter Terminology

● Tweet-A Twitter post. All tweets are public● Twitter handle- a userrname on Twitter. Start with @● Retweet (RT)- To send out someone else's tweet● Direct Message (DM)- A private tweet between two

people● Follower- A person who subscribes to someone's tweets● Hashtag (#)- Used to mark keywords in a tweet to

categorize tweets

STEP ONE

● Go to Twitter.Com● Click in the search box (top

right)● Find a Canadian with over a

million followers

STEP TWO● Enter @gedsb into the search bar

and scroll down the feed.● Find a tweet you have a connection

with. Someone you know, a school you’re familiar with, etc.

● Be ready to explain the connection.

STEP THREE

● Search #onted and scroll down the feed.● Find a story, a resource or an idea that you find engaging for some reason.● Be ready to describe it and explain why.
