Tweet This, Not That: Learning and Connecting Through Social Media
From the Building Connections Conference 2012, hosted by University 101 at the University of South Carolina. presenters: Maegan Gudridge, communications director, Student Affairs and Academic Support; Maureen Grewe, coordinator for student conduct and behavioral intervention, Office of Student Conduct. Social media can be a means to connect, not disengage; and mobile devices can be learning tools, not classroom disruptions. In this session, the presenters will provide suggestions for talking with students about how to use social media responsibly, to connect with the University of South Carolina and to advance their learning, Participants also will learn ways to use Twitter to enhance class discussion and participation.
