Sejarah Umum lagu Thailand

 Musik Thailand modern awalnya disebarkan oleh para pendatang

dari bangsa Barat yang sedang  berkunjung

untuk melihat pemandangan Thailand

yang begitu indah. Musik modern Thailand dibedakan menjadi 2 tipe, yaitu, tipe klasik dan tipe popular. Tipe klasik memiliki tiga

kategori yang disajikan dalam bentuk

ansambel, yaitu piphate, mahori, dan

kleongsai.

Dua gaya paling populer pada musik tradisional Thailand

adalah mor lam dan luk thung, yang memiliki

pengaruh penting dari Laos dan negara-negara tetangga lain.

Budaya khas Thailand belum ada sampai 1257, sampai ketika Kerajaan Sukhothai didirikan.

Musik adalah bagian penting dari kehidupan selama periode ini, dan apa yang sekarang dikenal

sebagai musik tradisional Thailand muncul selama periode

Ayuthaya.

Syair lagu – lagu tradisional Thailand pada umumnya puitis. Tidak begitu dihayati seperti jenis lagu seriosa, tapi syairnya mengandung makna mendalam tentang kehidupan di Thailand dan lingkungannya.

Pembawaan lagu tradisional Thailand tidak begitu santai namun penuh penghayatan. Tipe lagu yang umum di Thailand adalah Luk Tung dan Mor Lam. Keduanya pada umumnya sama-sama dinyanyikan oleh seorang individu.

Keunikan lagu tradisional Thailand dibanding lagu lain terlebih lagu tradisional yang ada di Asia adalah makna yang ingin disampaikan dari lagu tersebut. Berbagai variasi bentuk seni vokal juga ditemukan di setiap tingkatan masyarakat Siam (Thailand), antara lain :

Kesimpulan Melalui presentasi tentang apresiasi musik di

Asia yaitu Thailand ini, kami mengambil kesimpulan bahwa tiap negara mempunyai ciri khasnya masing-masing dalam bermusik. Era globalisasi juga membawa pengaruh yang cukup besar pada bidang budaya dan memunculkan lagu/musik modern tak hanya di kalangan masyarakat Thailand, tapi juga di negara lain.
