Top 3 Thriller Films

The Hunger Games was the number 1 movie which earned the most at the box office. This comes to no surprise as it challenges conventions (having a woman as the hero figure) and has been very popular with all the other films and books that this series has.

Gone Girl was also popular as it gave enigma codes to the audience such as; “Did Nick Dunee Kill His Wife?” also it features bloody violence which most teenagers find fun to watch as they love gory films.

The Maze Runner got on the top 3 due to its unique nature as I haven’t seen a film quite like it. It’s also based on a popular novel, just like The Hunger Games so people who enjoy the book may also want to try out the film.

Top 3 Thriller Films -> Ratings

Summary of My FindingsAfter looking into the ratings of the top 3 films in the box office I found that the ratings weren’t as high as I expected.

The Hunger Games (Mocking jay Part 1) was rated 6.8 which was surprising as although it did really well in the box office, people didn’t think it was as good in the ratings. I think it was rated so high in the box office as people who had seen the first Hunger Games would have gone to see the new one as they may think it will be just as good, if not better however this clearly wasn’t the case.

Gone Girl had higher ratings than The Hunger Games, scoring 8.2 out of 10. This was shocking as I thought that because Gone Girl wasn’t as popular in the box office. I think this is due to more people reading The Hunger Games than the Gone Girl book.

Finally The Maze Runner was rated at 6.8 which is quite high for a film considering The Hunger Games (Mocking jay Part 1) had the same rating. I think that this film was so high in the box office due to its original nature.
