The oil and the olives harvest have been a principal part of the life of man through the ages, starting from the classical and Christian tradition.

After  the  flood,  the  dove  brings  an  olive branch to Noah, a sign that the waters have receded.  Probably  as  a  result  of  this episode  in  Christian  culture,  the  olive  tree has  become  a  symbol  of  peace  between God and mankind.

The olive, in all its luxuriant identity is represented as a natural element of the landscape, and emblem of a wise and authentic beauty, by the artist Vincent Van Gogh who sought to capture the fascinating and profound essence of this plant.

 "The olive pickers(1973) –V. GuerrazziIn the painting  Guerazzi represents a dark and gloomy atmosphere, with several trees in sad autumn colors , in relation with old olive women. Each woman is dressed in black; the soil is poor and meager. The artist wants to express the hard work of the women consumed from care and tiredness.

The Tomato Art Fest in Tennessee

This year is the Tomato Art Fest’s 13th year anniversary, and they plan to astound the tomato loving world with our Tomato Art Show in East Nashville, Tennessee!

The 13th annual Tomato Art Fest is set for August 13, 2016. Last year the festival drew nearly 50,000 people to East Nashville.you will create tomato-inspired artwork to fill the walls of the gallery and add another level of greatness to this already remarkable event.
