The students are informed on the intricacies of interpersonal communications, as well as taught the need to take into account the

factors that come into play during the communication process, namely, the attitudes

of the communicators, the social system, culture and other barriers to communication that have to be surmounted to enhance the students effectiveness in the interpersonal

process.

THE PEER FACILITATOR PROGRAMThe guidance and counseling office offers a peer facilitator

program to provide opportunities for the development of the well integrated person and to train students to become peer

facilitators The growing extent of peer influences among adolescents

cannot be overestimated. The individual is surrounded by external factors which will definitely affect the relationship with others. He sees the realities of the world according to his own

perception and understanding. Thus, the peer who is of the same age as he/she is can easily understand and reach out to him. The peers opinion is usually held in the highest regard especially on

issues involving learning and the school.

Peer Facilitator is an innovative approach to counseling. A supervised program of peer- infulenced modeling can be very effective method of solving juvenile problems and

promoting a sense of well-being
