2Ch 2:14 the son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father was a man of Tyre, skillful to work in gold, and in silver, in bronze, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue, and in fine linen, and in crimson. He also can engrave any kind of engraving, and can invent every device which shall be put to him, with your skillful men, and with the skillful men of my lord David your father.

And now I have sent a cunning man, endued with understanding, of Huram my father's, The son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father was a man of Tyre, skilful to work in :

• gold, and • in silver, • in brass, • in iron, • in stone, and • in timber, • in purple,• in blue, and • in fine linen, and • in crimson;

also to grave any manner of graving, and to find out every device which shall be put to him, with thy cunning men, and with the cunning men of my lord David thy father.

Solomon’s Request

• Send me now therefore a man cunning to work in:

• gold, and • in silver, and METALS• in brass, and • in iron, and

-• in purple, and • crimson, and TEXTILES• blue, and that

can skill to grave with the cunning men that are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father did provide.

Metals are either beaten into the required intricate shapes or are melted and poured into moulds to form the predictable shapes or ornate designs.

• When does transformation occur? Under pressure. “ This may also be as a result of an accelerant or change agent to form the complete product. Diamonds are formed and chiselled under pressure; so is gold mined and smelted … [Ukaiko –Transformative Learning and Faith Integration]

• For some of us, our students, staff and church members may be metals (gold, silver, brass, or iron), others stone, wood or linen.

• What X-factors do we have to develop or acquire during our training as students, in order to become professionals with excellent attributes such as Hurambi had?

• How are we going to respond to the tedium of course work and other extra curricular activities, that have the potential to sharpen our leadership and professional qualities?
