Imagine an Atlas Moth when it flies

The very large and beautiful Atlas Moth species is usually found in Southeast Asia. Atlas Moth cocoons are used to make the durable silk known as "Fagara Silk" originating in northern India. In Taiwan, Atlas Moth cocoons are used to make pocket purses!

August 4th, we began to learn

Sinte Gleska University Library

was proud host to

Dallas Chief Eagle 11,

an educator and performing artist

whose residency was made possible by

the South Dakota State Library

& the South Dakota Library Association.

Twenty-three area youth attended the daily sessions,

including many of our Readers, for whom these lessons were the

last Summer Reading event .
