Gathered information regarding which stations were accessible and preferable
What questions do we plan to ask our interviewees?

History of the site
Future plans for the site
Any other points of interest on the timeline

What he thinks is in store for the site’s future
View on our project – relevance, potential etc.
What new multimedia skills is our team learning in order to make our project a success?
Photoshop for editing of raw photos
Sony Vegas/Final Cut for the editing of footage
CSS/HTML/Javascript/Scrollkit for coding and construction of the website
Audacity for editing and production of audio
Brompton Road - background
First opened in 1906 but was closed in 1934 after Knightsbridge station was modernised and opened a southern entrance
Sold to the War Office during WW2, the Royal Artillery ran its anti-aircraft operations room in the station
Recently sold by the MOD following a bidding war between multiple buyers
Audience
Survey – we recently conducted a survey to find out about our audience and whether out project would be of interest
The readership of our competition, as they cover similar topics and will likely be interested in ours
People who take an interest in the technical side of the project i.e. how the multimedia is created/presented
The results
Competition
Our main competition will be other bloggers and London based publications (TimeOut/Shortlist) with regards to the nature of the project (explorative/places of interest)
We are also competition with other producers of multimedia projects as we feel one of our main draws is the style of the content
Potentially other groups who have previously documented the site (albeit, using a different approach)
USP
Exclusivity – although people have visited the site – we will be the first time film/take photos for this type of project
You cannot visit the station and the site will be changing now the deal is complete – so it will never be the same again
The utilisation of new technology in order to document the history of the station (a more interactive approach)
Short plan
Simplistic, immersive and eye-catching design
Past, present, future of Brompton Road
Videos of the station
Audio from underground
Stills taken from the station
Data visualisation – on Brompton Road stats
Interviews with Ajit Chambers and Ian visits
How we plan to find & engage our audience
Tumblr – showing making of blog
Marketing blog/site – trailing the website – more in terms of marketing – exclusive pictures etc taken from the event – countdown to
Laminate a few photos and send them around London, getting people to take the pictures and send us it as a way of involving the public and spreading the word
Social media
Tumblr – provides a place where we can document and promote our progress
Twitter – connecting with people we feel would be interested in the project
Twitter – posting links etc that are relevant to our project
Facebook – create a group where we can keep people informed of any updates
Facebook – promoted post
Why we have chosen our design/domain Design- We have chosen to produce a multimedia story site which will be one page allowing readers to simply scroll through the whole site. This fluid design will display our content in a way which immerses the reader into the story
The domain name will be Subsurface because our project focuses on a site that is below the ground
We have preordered the domain Subsurface.london
What sections will our site have?
The site will essentially be one long page with no sections in order to create a fluid and immersive experience
All our media, including soundbites will the background to the written content on the site, for a cinematic feel
Videos will be intermittently located on the page among other media such as audio clips, photos and writing
Analysis of readers
Google analytics and wordpress viewing figures will be used to judge how popular certain parts of the site are
Although it’s only one page, the reader has the option to view it all as opposed to clicking on links that redirect to other sections of the site
We will carry out a post-launch survey to ascertain which features of the site have been successful and which need modifying
How might we expand our product to other online/mobile platforms?Due to the stylistically simple nature of our site, expansion to other platforms will be a relatively straightforward process
We have spoken to Ajit Chambers regarding the future of the project who detailed the possibility of gaining access to other stations
Throughout the development of the project we have had utilised social media such as Tumblr to document the production stage
The screenshot on the previous page shows that of the people who completed our survey, 70% of them have an iPhones. This has been noted throughout the development of the site and when Subsurface launches our aim is to be iPhone friendly.
Expansion to mobile platforms
Launch
As previously mentioned, we have preordered a dot london (subsurface.london) domain which is due to be released in the early stages of 2014, and will bring a new influx of city specific websites of which ours will be part of
