Global Gathering

• Series of events planned by IYPF for Young Professionals to provide networking and informative content around the MDG’s.– Previous StandUp event held in 12 countries– Next Global Gathering is StandUp

• Goal is events in 30 countries

• Your hosting commitment – 1 event

The Event

• Run events ideally for 20-40 people, but no less than 10.

• Focus on networking and discussion around the presented themes

• Presentation on three themes– StandUp– MDG’s– IYPF

The Event: Possibilities

You select the type of event to hold

• Dinner meeting– Participant cost – a meal

• Office event– Participant cost – potentially zero

• After dinner drinks w/ finger food– Participant cost – small charge to cover food

Event outcomes

1. Catalyse local connectivity between YP’s with a similar world view

2. Build a greater understanding of StandUp and how it related to the MDG’s

Host Responsibilities

• Organise a venue

• Engage local Young Professionals– Local promotion

• Present prepared presentations for event

• Keep IYPF events team up to date with your progress

IYPF Responsibilities

• Promote event online

• Produce support materials for local events– Presentations [MDG’s, StandUp, IYPF]– Printed materials

• Assist in supporting host organise event

Timeline

• Event is 4 weeks away– Now: Register as host– Next: You will need to secure a venue very

soon & select event timing– After: Engage local Young Professionals

• Use your networks• Approach local organisations (their foundation or

community engagement reps)• Distribute materials www.iypf.org/standup
