  2. 2. About Uva RegionUva Region is consist of 2 main districts The area of the Uva Region is 8335 square km Population in Uva Region is 1,257,000 and the population density is 151 per square km
  3. 3. Physical Environment of UvaA Large proportion of the region is between 30-300m in elevation. Namankulu peak 2036 m high is found in region. Dunhinda falls is situated in uva. Forests, mountains, waterfalls and escarpments are also situated.
  4. 4. National ParksParts of Yala ,udawalawa and lahugala Belongs to monaragala area in Uva.
  5. 5. About Monaragala District The main industry in Monaragala is RubberSome of the subsistence crops in monaragala are Paddy, Grains, Bananas, Pineapple and Sugarcane Anicuts, Small tanks and other irrigation schemes are there in monaragala.
  6. 6. Badulla District The main industry in Badulla is Tea cultivation. Some of the subsistence crops in badulla are Terraced paddy farming. Temperate zone fruits and vegetables growing.There are some areas devoted to other crops been reserved as forest
  7. 7. Industries Help uplift the rural industries. Taking steps to improve Tourist Industries. Establishment of sugar factories.
  8. 8. Infrastructure facilities Planned development of badulla and monaragala districts with Post office, Bus stands, Hospitals, Conference halls etc. Implementation of drinking water and other husbandry projects. Improvement of education facilities. Implementation of sanitation.
