'Sixth-Sense' is a wearable gestural interface

It augments the physical world around us with

digital information and lets us use natural hand

gestures to interact with that information.

It can project information on any surface, be it a

wall, table or any other object and uses hand / arm

movements to help us interact with the projected

information.


Pranav Mistry, 28 year old, a PhD student at MIT of

Indian origin is the mastermind behind of sixth sense

technology.

He invented „ Sixth Sense / WUW ( Wear UR World) in

2009.


A Pocket Projector

Projects visual information to interfaces like wall

A Camera Tracks user hand gestures.

Colour Markers Colour Markers are used as mouse pointer.

Laptop/Mobile


Are used to store data.

In Sixth-Sense the Projector are

used to create a virtual display

environment..

The user can manipulate

content and interact with the

computer using natural touch

and hand gestures, instead of a

typical mouse and keyboard

Camera is used to recognize

different types of menus and

objects such as fingers, tagged

items and shapes.

This input is then processed by

the mobile and the resulting

interaction is displayed using

rear projection.

“The software program

processes the video stream data

captured by the camera and

tracks the locations of the

colored markers [that you wear

on your fingers] using simple

computer-vision techniques”
